The 50-hr Physical Body Module gave me so much insight into the world of Yin, from the history and philosophy to exploring Yin Yoga of poses, learning about anatomical differences and the health benefits of Yin Yoga, each part of the course was fascinating. Each day opens and closes with a long, beautiful group practice and we explored so many themes throughout the course.
As well as exploring Yin Yoga teaching, Kate helped us nurture the self-teacher, and my home practice has completely transformed during the course. I found the process of what we learnt and practice and the sanga we created a truly nourishing and therapeutic one too.

Structure: Very usefull and clarifying, the sequence very clear. Overall impression of the seminars was excellent.
Practice: In the beginning I thought this is not for me but after the second day and my experience (break free from the past) I was totally infected and opened up to the whole Training.

As a regular long distance runner I feel it is important to offset the impact of my training with other activities. I have been practising yoga for a few years, mostly focussing on vinyasa, but noticed my flexibility wasn’t really improving due to the amount of running that seemed to be counteracting it. Kate recommended yin yoga to me, describing it as “yoga for ninjas” and I was immediately intrigued! After a few practices I am now converted, the effect has been that I can feel my deep tissues being targeted and problem areas are stretched and released. My running has improved noticeably since I have been practicing yin regularly and my post-run routine now includes a few favourite yin poses. Yin is a challenging practice but incredibly rewarding!
My last marathon was incredibly uncertain as I had a lot of injuries in the left glutes/IT that eventually caused a lot of pain in the last six miles (still got a PB and 46th lady out of 1200!) and the half saddle last night was the perfect way to let off the tension that had built up there. “Another wonderful retreat with Kate. The Faralya Hotel and its hosts were amazing – made us all feel so welcome and special, you could tell they really cared. The food was super yummy – lots of it!
